"He is risen!", Meaning of Easter Bible Verses

As Easter and Passover approach, let's contemplate some Easter-related bible verses. In these unprecedented times, let's remind ourselves of the resurrection of Jesus Christ, and his triumphant love. Truly, "He is risen!".

A lot of things have changed in the past year. However, one thing that didn't is the spiritual discipline that is taught in the Bible: Christian Fasting.

Read through some of our favorite Easter bible verses, as we look forward to the most joyous celebrations in the church.

1) "With great power the apostles continued to testify to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And God's grace was so powerfully at work in them all." — Acts 4:33

2) “And he said to them, “Do not be alarmed. You seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He has risen; he is not here.” — Mark 16:6

3) “But on the first day of the week, at early dawn, they went to the tomb, taking the spices they had prepared. And they found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they went in they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. While they were perplexed about this, behold, two men stood by them in dazzling apparel.” — Luke 24:1-4

4) “See, we are going up to Jerusalem. And the Son of Man will be delivered over to the chief priests and scribes, and they will condemn him to death and deliver him over to the Gentiles to be mocked and flogged and crucified, and he will be raised on the third day.” — Matthew 20:18-19

5) "For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead comes also through a man." — 1 Corinthians 15:21

6) “Now if we have died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him. We know that Christ, being raised from the dead, will never die again; death no longer has dominion over him. For the death he died he died to sin, once for all, but the life he lives he lives to God. So you also must consider yourselves dead to sin and alive to God in Christ Jesus.” — Romans 6:8-11

7) “If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you.” — Romans 8:11

8) “For I received from the Lord what I also delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus on the night when he was betrayed took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it, and said, ‘This is my body which is for you. Do this in remembrance of me.’ In the same way also he took the cup, after supper, saying, ‘This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me.’ For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes.” — 1 Corinthians 11:23-26
