A circle joining the four arms of a cross is one of the oldest images in Christian art, often read as eternity meeting the sacrifice of Calvary. In this Celtic style necklace, that ancient form is carved in olive wood from the Holy Land and set with genuine mother of pearl, the same luminous shell Bethlehem artisans have worked for centuries.

The pendant comes from the Bannoura family workshop in Bethlehem, where Christian carvers finish every piece by hand. No two are alike; the grain of the wood and the glow of the shell vary from one cross to the next. It makes a meaningful First Communion gift, and a lovely way to carry a piece of the Holy Land close to the heart.

I particularly like it because, to me, it represents both the sacrifice (via the silhouette that is a visible reminder) but also the miraculous defeat of death and sin (the corpus is not there). Love this bracelet! I wear it everyday but I constantly have to remind myself to take it off while I’m washing dishes, washing my hands, or taking a shower. I want to make sure to preserve it for as long as possible. Very beautiful and I would definitely buy it again as a gift.
