Choosing a Crucifix: Sizes, Styles and Where It HangsA crucifix is a cross with the body of Christ, the corpus, carved on it. Ours come in four main sizes. A pocket crucifix of 3 to 4 inches travels in a purse or a car. A wall crucifix of 7 to 13 inches suits a bedroom, a kitchen or an entryway. A standing crucifix of 13 to 19 inches sits on a mantel, a desk or an altar. Church and chapel crucifixes run from 21 inches up to extra large.
