Romans 5:8 "While we were still sinners, Christ died for us." Jesus Christ corpus is shown hanging on the cross while Virgin Mary, Mary Magdalene and St. John the Evangelist are depicted in utmost mourning under him. The three mourning figures solicit an emotionally charged response from the viewer.
This intimate portrayal of Christ’s death on the cross with St. John melancholy gazing up at the figure of Christ is more than a statuette or a figurine. It will always remind us that our savior came into this world to bless us with love, faith and forgiveness.
