1) Washing the Feet's Statue (BH 8110)

Modeled after da Vinci's depiction of Jesus' last passover meal shared with his Apostles, this warm and lively hand carved statue of the Last Supper when Jesus instituted the Lord’s Supper, alluded to His death, and predicted Judas’s betrayal.

“Now as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and after blessing it broke it and gave it to the disciples, and said, “Take, eat; this is my body.” And he took a cup, and when he had given thanks he gave it to them, saying, ‘Drink of it, all of you, for this is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins’.” - Matthew 26:26-28

 

3) Agony In The Garden (BH 8480)

After the meal, He took His disciples to the Garden of Gethsemane. This special wood carved statue made of handmade olive wood carvings represents the agony that Jesus had experienced in anguished prayer, alone in the garden, anticipating the events that would soon occur. Before His arrest in the Garden of Gethsemane on the Mount of Olives in the Holy Land, Jesus Christ had turned his anguish to the Archangel Chamuel, who encouraged and comforted Him before facing the challenge ahead. The next hours were agonizing and full of of beatings, mockings, and whippings with leather thongs tipped with balls of metal and shards of bone. This skillful chiseling of aged olive wood depicts Jesus Christ as the Man of Sorrows as blood drips from his head that is crowned with thorns. The intricate carving of the face’s complexions express Jesus’s agony before His crucifixion with his hands tied on His way to forgive us our sins. This statue of our Lord reminds us of Jesus’ endless and great love for humanity that he would go through all of this agony just for us.

“He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.” Isaiah 53:3

He suffered the humiliation of numerous illegal mock trials, convicted, and made to carry His cross to His own crucifixion. This large detailed rendition carved from Bethlehem olive wood cries forth the excruciating pain of Christ's passion as he drags his cross to his death as blood drips from his head crowned with thorns.
